Abstract
PURPOSE:To execute development having high resolution and good quality, by using a carrier composed of fine particles of insulating resin and >=50wt% magnetic fine particles having 10<6>-10<11>ohm-cm and 45-100mum particle diameter dispersed into said insulating resin particles. CONSTITUTION:A developing apparatus having fixed electrodes and a rotating sleeve is used, a mixture of a carrier having 80mum average particle diameter and 10<7>-10<8>ohm-cm resistivity and an insulating toner is used as a developer, intensity of magnetic poles is set to >=1,000 gauss on the surface of a developing sleeve, and a gap between a photoreceptor and the sleeve is set to 1.5mm.. A high quality image is obtained by developing by these conditions, and the carrier becomes >=300,000 pages/kg in capacity. As the resin of the carrier, polyethylene, epoxy, polystyrene, fluorocarbon resin, etc. are embodied, and as the magnetic material, Fe3O4 or ferrite are usable.
