Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an electrostatic latent image developer having long service life and high quality types, by coating a conductive resin of same triboelectric series as a toner on the whole surfaces of magnetic particles.
CONSTITUTION: The whole surface of each magnetic particle 1 is coated with conductive resin 2 to prepare additive 3. An ion dissociating type quaternary ammonium resin or a carbon black dispersed polymer resin is used for resin 2. Additive 3 is introduced between carrier 4 of a developer and toner 5, and lowers a resistance value of the developer. High quality development free from inside whitening can be carried out by developing an electrostatic latent image with the developer containing additive 3. Even when particle 1 is large, its surface can be made conductive, so its magnetic force can be strengthened. As a result, additive 3 can be prevented together with the toner during development from consumption. Since toner 5 does not attach to additive 3, a service life of the developer can be extended.
