Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a good transferred image on a plain paper, by using a specified one-component type magnetic toner, forming electrically conductive paths via the toner between a photoreceptor and a roller having a rotary sleeve on the outside of fixed magnets, and injecting charge reverse in polarity to an electrostatic latent image to the toner. CONSTITUTION:The one-component type magnetic toner to be used consists of magnetic powder 11 of 0.3-5mum average particle diameter useful as a colorant, too, colorant 13 of 0.5-5mum average particle diameter, and a binder resin. The raw material in which the sum of colorant 13 and powder 11 amounts to 30-70wt% of the total toner wt., and powder 11 amounts to 35-65wt% is mixed, melted, cooled, and pulverized to give a toner having 8-18mum average particle diameter and 1.8-2.2 true specific density. This toner forms conductive paths 14 between developing sleeve 6 having fixed magnets 9, and photoreceptor 2 on drum 1, and becomes positively charged toner T1 against negatively charged electrostatic image on photoreceptor 2, and electrostatic latent image T2 is formed with rotation of photoreceptor 1 and sleeve 6. The developed toner image T2 is transferred to plain paper S by imparting charge to the reverse side of paper S. Since magnetic particles 11 are coarse and the charge of toner T1, T2, T3 is not ready to decay after charging, superior image transfer is carried out.
