Abstract

PURPOSE: To make transfer efficiency at a constant high value by applying bias voltage to a conductive sleeve on which magnetic brush is formed and charging the magnetic toner forming sensible images.
CONSTITUTION: Magnet brush by magnetic toner 2 is formed on a conductive sleeve 4 which is rotated by a magnet roll 5. Since positive bias voltage is being applied to this sleeve 4 thtough a powder source 8, the magnetic toner 2 forming the magnet brush on the surface of the sleeve 4 is potentively charged and the latent images on a magnetic latent image substrate 1 is developed by the magnetic toner by way of the roll 5 provided with the magnet of weak polarity of the opposing portions, as a result of which they become sensible images. Hence, the latent images are held charged even if the magnetic toner is used and therefore the transfer efficiency becomes a constant high value and the good quality transferred images are formed. The similar results may be obtained as well even by providing an electrode to be applied with bias voltage in the magnetic brush and charging the magnetic toner.
