Abstract

PURPOSE: To collect heat from a heat source other than exhaust hot water from a bath tub by a method wherein the heat radiating section of a heat pipe is inserted into the exhaust heat collecting tank incorporating a heat exchanger therein.
CONSTITUTION: The heat pipe 2 attached with a fin is inserted into the collecting tank 7 from the center of the bottom of the latter to thereby form the heat radiating section and the intermediate portion of the heat pipe 2 is covered with an adiabatic material 2b. The outer end of the heat pipe 2 is barried deep into the ground. The high temperature exhaust water from an exhaust pipe 3a of the bath tub is introduced into the collecting tank 7 for storage and the overflowed part of the exhaust water is discharged from a discharge pipe 3b. The high temperature exhaust water stored in the collecting tank 7 transfers heat to the water in a feed water pipe 4c within the tank to heat the water. Further, the heat pipe 2 introduces a geothermal heat into the collecting tank 7 quite effectively to thereby increase the temperature of the exhaust water in the tank and to improve the heat exchange rate of the tank.
