Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a conductive member for electric resistance welding which is superior in physical and mechanical properties and is manufactured inexpensively without environmental pollution by contg. Ni, Si and Mn respectively at prescribed ratios and consisting of the balance Cu.
CONSTITUTION: The titled conductive member contains 2.3W3.0% Ni, 0.4W0.8% Si and 0.1W0.2% Mn, respectively, and the balance Cu. The material C of this conductive member is smaller in the deflection rate as compared to conventional brass material A and copper alloy material B; hence it is higher in hardness and durability. When the temp. elevation by the heat evolution caused by the resistance of the gun arm consisting of these three materials is compared in the different positions (a), (b), (c) respectively of the gun arm, the temp. elevation of the material C is lower than that of other materials A, B in all measuring positions, and is higher in electric conductivity. Since the material C contains less additive elements, it permits easy casting control and temp. control, and is inexpensively manufactured without environmental pollution.
