Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain wire rods for copper welding excelling in electric conductivity and welding performance, by containing a specified amount of Si and at least one kind of Ag, Sn, In, Cd, Fe, Ni, Co. CONSTITUTION:This material contains Si by 0.05-0.7%, and at least one kind of Ag, Sn, In, Cd, Fe, Ni, Co by 0.05-2.0%, while the remainder is Cu, The Si, coexisting with other element, exhibits an ideal deoxidation effect, improves the welding workability, and forms a sound deposited metal. Ag, Sn, In, and Cd do not spoil the electric conductivity of the copper relatively, and do not form refractory film, and will promote flow of molten metal and improve affinity for the base metal, thereby contributing to the workability. Fe, Ni, and Co have effects to increase the strength and toughness. Hence, these elements are suitable as additive elements for wire rods for automatic welding.
