Abstract

PURPOSE:To draw only the output component resulting from the gas being detected, by providing n sets of thermal conductivity type gas detectors of operating temperature points different from each other, and calculating and processing the detection outputs thereof. CONSTITUTION:Supposing there are two kinds of gases, the gas to be detected and a detection disturbing gas, in the atmosphere in which two sets of thermal conductivity type gas detectors 1 and 2 having gas detecting elements of operating temperature points different from each other are arranged, the outputs proportional to respective gas concentrations are obtained as detection outputs V1 and V2. Therefore, the coefficients n1 and n2 of respective coefficient multipliers 16 and 26 are properly selected so that the solution of the two-element linear equation formed therefrom can be obtained, and operation is carried out so that the term of the detection disturbing gas becomes zero, then the output V0 is displayed on an indicator 4. Said method for the case where two kinds of gases exist can be applied to the case where n kinds of gases exist if the outputs obtained from n sets of thermal conductivity type gas detectors of operating temperature points different from each other are formed into an n-element linear equation, and coefficient multipliers and an arithmetic element are combined so that the solution thereof can be obtained.
