Abstract
PURPOSE: To estimate a leakage position at a pipeline by a method wherein pressure gradient change is detected at two positions of a pipeline, and the detection outputs are fed to a multiplier and an arithmetic operation device.
CONSTITUTION: Detectors 11 and 12 for detecting pressure gradient changes are provided at positions 1 and 2 (spaced an arbitrary distance from each other) of a pipeline 10, and amplifiers 13 and 14 for amplifying the detection outputs of the detectors 11 and 12 are connected to the detectors 11 and 12 respectively. The amplifiers 13, 14 are connected with multipliers 15, 16 and 17, which generate outputs a11, a12 and a22 respectively. The outputs a11, a12 and a22 are fed to an arithmetic operation device 18, where they are subjected to an arithmetic operation for determining the leakage position at the pipeline 10.
