Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove the residual magnetism for improving measurement accuracy by a method wherein magnetic rubber is provided on a pig reference position, while a pair of magnetic sensors are provided on a pipe reference position to sense the pig reference point passing.
CONSTITUTION: A pig 13 is consisted of rubber 6a, 6b, magnetic rubber 7, metal fittings 8 holding magnetic rubber 7, a shaft 10 and nuts 11a, 11b. The outer diameter of the pig 13 can be adusted as shown by a chain line by tightening the nuts 11a, 11b, the leakage can be prevented by adjusting to the inner diameter of a pipe- line 1. On the other hand a pair of magnetic sensors 14a, 14b and another pair of magnetic sensors 15a, 15b are prepared in the pipe outer shaft direction of the pipe 1 to give the output thereof to a zero-potential detector 5 through the differential amplifiers 16, 17 and an additional amplifier 4. Said differential amplifiers 16, 17 remove the influence of residual magnetism in the pipe line.
