Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a superior transferred image on a plain paper using a conductive one-component type magnetic toner, by applying alternating voltage with controllable DC bias voltage superposed, to a transfer device opposite to a photosensitive drum bearing a toner powder image. CONSTITUTION:Conductive rotary sleeve 16 is provided on the outer circumference of transfer roller 14 in transfer device 10, and magnets for generating a magnetic field toward photosensitive drum 2 are fixed in the inside of sleeve 2. High frequency voltage source 18 and DC bias voltage source 20 are connected in series to sleeve 16. The high frequency voltage controlled in zero level with source 20 is applied to transfer paper 12 to transfer a toner powder image, thus permitting superior image transfer to be made on a plain paper of low electric resistivity without using an insulating transfer paper as transfer paper 12.
