Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a short-circuit of upper and lower arms by detecting a collector current OFF of the transistors and utilizing the detection signal for interlocking with a base drive signal. CONSTITUTION:A base driving circuit 8 has a collector current OFF detecting circuit, and when the drive signal is fed to the circuit 8 through a photocoupler 1PHC, the signal is shaped and drives the main transistor TrM through the transistor TrA for amplifying the current. The collector current OFF of the main transistor TrM is detected by comparing a base potential of the transistor TrM with a voltage EC in a comparator 2PHC and taken out as an interlock signal from a photocoupler 2PHC. The interlock signal is fed to NAND gate G1, G2 with the base drive signal of the main transistor TrM making up a group.
