Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable excellent recording causing no concentration unevenness for a short time by forming insulating layers among comblike electrodes and a heat generating resistor so that each one section of electrode element bodies exposes in a thermal head in which the heat generating resistor is patterned. CONSTITUTION:A pair of comblike electrodes 22, 23 are attached and formed on a heat resisting insulating substrate 21 in ceramic, etc. so that each electrode element body 22a, 22b..., 23a, 23b,... overlaps mutually in noncontact shapes. Slender insulating layers 25 are made up on these comblike electrodes 22, 23 at regular intervals, and a heat generating resistor 24 with a fixed two-dimensional pattern is built up on the layers 25, and brought into contact with the exposing sections of the electrode element bodies among the insulating layers 25. The heat generating resistor 24 generates heat by applying voltage between the electrodes 22, 23, but a voltage drop is prevented because the electrode element bodies are formed in wide areas as much as possible at that time, applied voltage is uniformalized, and a heat generating region of the heat generating resistor 24 can be taken maximum by the existence of the insulating layers 25.
