Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to make all of connecting rods for common use by a method wherein the relations between masses of reciprocating part and revolving part for each cylinder are specified in the tandem-type three cylinders internal-combustion engine having the phase of 180 deg. between neighboring cylinders. CONSTITUTION:Pistons 13-33 in first to third cylinders 1-3 are connected to respective crank pins 12-32 in a crank shaft 4 through connecting rods 15-35 having the same sizes and the same configurations respectively. In this case, the cylinders 1, 3 are arranged in the same phase but the cylinder 2 is arranged at a position having the phase angle of 180 deg. with respect to the cylinders 1, 3. The masses of the reciprocating parts in the cylinders 1, 3 are made equal while the mass of the reciprocating part of the cylinder 2 is made about two or just two times of the above-described masses. The masses of the revolving parts in the cylinders 1, 3 are also made equal while the mass of the revolving part of the cylinder 2 is made just two or about two times of the same masses in the cylinders 1, 3.
