Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the scavenging efficiency, by using two pistons disposed to oppose each other, one for discharging exhaust gas and the other for scavenging, and forming an exhaust port and a scavenging port helically around the entire outer circumference of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust piston 1 and a scavenging piston 2 disposed in a cylinder 5 to oppose each other do not move synchronously at any point excluding the top dead points, since an exhaust crank shaft 3 and a scavenging crank shaft 4 are displaced from the center of cylinder 5. An exhaust port 6 and a scavenging port 7 are formed around the entire outer circumference of the cylinder 5, and exhaust vanes 8 and scavenging vanes 9 are provided respectively in the exhaust port 6 and the scavenging port 7. Therefore, combustion gas and scavenging gas are discharged to the outside of the cylinder or drawn into the cylinder helically along the entire circumference thereof.
