Abstract

PURPOSE: To quickly perform COD control of treating water, by carrying out a feedback control through using a water quality sensor such as color meter and COD meter and its correlator in water treatment utilizing oxidizing force of ozone.
CONSTITUTION: Into ozone decolorizing react 1, raw water 2 on which decolorization treatment is to be performed, is introduced together with the ozone which is supplied from ozone producer 7 through adjusting valve 8, and an oxidizing reaction is carried out between raw water 2 and the ozone and the turbidity, color BOD and COD of the raw water are lowered below a specified value. This treating water 4 is supplied into color meter 5 and its color is measured and, at the same time, the water is also supplied to COD meter 15. Then, measurement signal 9 from color meter 5 and measurement signal 16 of COD meter 15 are inputted into correlator 17, an both signals are compared and correlated. This value is compared with initially set value 20 by comparator 11, and adjusting valve 8 of the ozone supplying pipe is adjusted by means of its difference signal. Thus the supplying ozone amount is feedback controlled, and the COD value, etc., of raw water is controlled quickly to a level which is lower than a specified value.
