Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep the changes in MLSS concentration in the aeration tank within the tolerable range, by automatically correcting the setting width of return sludge concentration from the experienced values of changes in MLSS in the aeration tank.
CONSTITUTION: A return sludge concentration in an aeration tank 1 is detected by a return sludge densitometer 5, and MLSS is detected by an MLSS meter 6. These detection signals are inputted into an operation control device 7, and the MLSS value and return sludge concentration value in the aeration tank 1 are checked against the tolerable range. The differences between the maximum and minimum of the MLSS values and the upper and lower limits in the tolerable range throughout a whole day are operated, and the setting width of the return sludge concentration is corrected accordingly. The return sludge concentration to be inputted is checked with respect to this corrected setting width, and an extraction start or stop signal of the excess sludge is outputted to an excess sludge pump. By this control method stable water treating effect may be obtained.
