Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out estimation control from anlysis of characteristics of an activated sludge and a concn. of supernatant water by measuring a change on standing of turbidity of test water from a point of time when the sampled test water is stirred by air only for a definite time to carry out condition monitoring of water to be treated.
CONSTITUTION: Test water sampled from a treating installation by an air lift or the like is introduced into a measuring pipe 1. To a bottom part of the measuring pipe 1, an aeration apparatus 2 generating air bubbles in the test water is provided and, after the samling of the test water is completed, the test water in the measuring pipe 1 is stirred by air only for a definite time to carry out uniform conditioning and preparatory treatment of turbidity measurement is carried out. A turbiditymeter is provided to a part above a central part of the measuring pipe 1 and, from a point of time when the stirring is stopped after uniform conditioning of the test water due to the aeration apparatus 2, precipitation measurement is intiated. The measurement is carried out until a time necesary for stabilizing a turbicity change of the test water and, thereafter, the test water is discharged from a discharge apparatus 4.
