Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable performance of effective digestion regardless variation in quantity and quality of sludge influent, in the process of treating organgic sludge, by controlling an agitator for the sludge in a digestion vessel in response to the rate of solid matters in the sludge flowing into thd digestion vessel.
CONSTITUTION: An amount Q of sludge to be charged intp a digestion vessel is measured by a flow meter 1, while a sludge concentration C is measured by a densitometer 2. These values are inputted into a computer 3. In addition, a coefficient k to set an agitation rate M corresponding to variation in the rate of charaged solid matters is inputted through a setter 4 into computer 3. The computer 3 multifies these inputs, determines the said agitation rate M=k.Q.C and inputs the agitation rate signal into a controller 5, so as to operate a stirrer, e.g. a gas-agitating blower 7, in response to the rate of the charged solid matters. The coefficient k shall be determined by the shape and dimensions of the digestion vessel, an agitation method, etc.
