Abstract

PURPOSE: To dehydrate efficiently and with a constant stability by providing a comparing calculator for comparing a calculated value of the weight of an adsorptive flocculant per unit weight of a sludge with a target value, and an adjuster for adjusting the amount of the flocculant being added.
CONSTITUTION: A concentrated sludge is introduced into a flocculant mixing tank 2 through a water pipe 1, is mixed with a high polymer flocculant added through a flocculant injection pipe 3, then it is fed to a dehydrator 5 by a water pipe 4 and is separated into a filtrate and a dehydrated cake. In the calculator 12, the weight of the flocculant adsorbed onto the sludge is calculated from the difference between the weight of the added sludge measured by a measuring means 13 and the weight of the residual sludge measured by a measuring means 14. In additon, the target value of the weight of the adsorptive flocculant per unit weight of the sludge is inputted into the calculator 12 and is compared to the calculated value, and an instruction to cope with the difference between the calculated value and the target value is outputted to the adjustor 15.
