Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily obtain flocculated condition suitable for dehydration, by measuring the size distribution of water treatment sludge after flocculation treatment and by adjusting the amount of flocculant in accordance with the standard size.
CONSTITUTION: The flocculant chemical tank 2 is added to water treatment sludge in flocculating tank 1 and sampling is performed after they are mixed. Then the sample flocculated sludge is passed through screens 7 piled up on vibrating table 6 so that the opening of screen net 8 becomes larger as going top, together with fresh water and the size distribution is measured. The measured size distribution is compared with the standard size distribution suitable for dehydration and which has been prepared in advance, and it is judged whether the size distribution is suitable for dehydration or not. When the size distribution is not suitable for dehydration, the size distribution is adjusted so that it may become suitable, by adjusting the adding amount of flocculant.
