Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable dehydrated cake as a soil improving agent for farm land to be obtained at a low cost without chemical injection by mixing a specific ratio of freeze-thaw sludge to the sludge produced from a flocculating and settling device and pressure-dehydrating.
CONSTITUTION: In pressure-dehydrating without chemical injection the sludge produced from a flocculating and settling device which removes suspended substances by adding an inorg. flocculant to the water to be treated, the sludge therein having been subjected to freeze-thaw treatment is added to the original sludge at 20W80% ratios in terms of solid weight. This results in increased rate of dehydration and decreased water contents, thus enabling the sludge to be dehydrated stably irrespective of its characteristics and the dehydrated cake is relatively easy to collapse and is suitable for use as a land improving agent.
