Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a creation of turbulence in an intake passage and facilitate atomization of fuel by cutting the end, disposed in the intake passage, of a pistonlike variable venturi member of a variable choke carburetor bias with respect to its axis.
CONSTITUTION: In a carburetor 10 a fuel blast nozzle opening needle 13 is supported by a piston 14 or variable venturi member, whose lower peripheral end is bias cut to form inclined faces 18a, 18b respectively opposed to an upstream area 15a and a downstream area 15b in an intake passage 15. Thereby, under a partial load as shown in the drawing, almost turbulence created before and behind the piston 14 may be enfeebled while a suction air passes through a venturi part 16. At high speed running, that is when the throttle valve 17 is fully opened, both the inclined faces 18a, 18b on the lower end of the piston 14 are respectively continued to the upper inside faces of the suction upstream area 15a and the suction downstream area 15b to prevent a creation of the turbulence before and behind the piston 14.
