Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the combustion of air fuel mixture gas within a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine by providing second throttle valve and a sub air intake passage having a tangential outlet opening at the air intake passage at the downstream side of a throttle valve and introducing the mixture gas tangentially into the combustion chamber at low speed time. CONSTITUTION:There are arranged a throttle valve 12 and second throttle valve 14 at an air intake passage 5 and a sub air intake passage 15 for communicating with the upstream and downstream of the valve 14 thereat. The outlet opening 17 of the passage 15 is disposed tangentially within the passage 5 in the vicinity of an air intake valve 6 to thereby introduce the mixture gas injected from the opening 17 as vortex flow into a combustion chamber 4. Further, a vacuum diaphragm unit 21 driven by the vacuum to be introduced from a vacuum tube 27 is connected to the valve 14, which is directed to closing operation at low speed time of the engine to thus supply the mixture gas through the passage 15 tangentially into the chamber 4.
