Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the combustion of air fuel mixture gas in a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine by providing second throttle valve and a cutout groove for bypassing the second throttle valve at an air intake passage at the downstream side of a throttle valve and thereby supplying the mixture gas through the groove at low speed time. CONSTITUTION:There are arranged a throttle valve 12 and second throttle valve 15 at an air intake passage 5, and a cutout groove 14 for bypassing the passage 5 when the vlave 15 is fully closed at the lower end of the valve 15. Further, a vacuum diaphragm unit 18 driven by the air intake tube vacuum to be introduced from a vacuum tube 24 is connected to the valve 15, which is directed to closing operation at low speed time of the engine. Accordingly, the mixture gas is injected from the groove 14 into a combustion chamber 4 to thereby take place turbulence flow state in the chamber 4 so as to thus improve the combustion of the mixture gas.
