Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the frost damage in the ground around an underground tank storing liquefied natural gas and control effectively the temperature of the inside of the tank, by arranging a temperature control layer in a boundary area between the body of the underground tank and the ground around it. CONSTITUTION:A temperature control layer 4 is arranged in a boundary area between the tank body 1 of an underground tank storing liquefied natural gas and the ground 3 around it, and the control layer 4 is made of a far low thermal conductive material compared with the tank body 1 or the ground 3 around the tank. The heat conducted from the ground 3 around the tank to the inside of the underground tank storing liquefied natural gas is supposed to induced such circumstances that its temperature is very close to the heat temperature of the ground 3 around the tank at the boundary area between the temperature control layer 4 and the ground 3 around the tank, and also quite near to the temperature of the underground tank storing liquefied natural gas when it comes to the boundary area between the temperature control layer 4 and the tank body 1, after penetrating the temperature control layer 4.
