Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve a heat retaining property, by filling a gas of lower thermal conductivity than air, in a heat insulating layer which encloses a heat-accumulative body to retain its heat, so that the thermal conductivity of the heat insulating layer is lowered.
CONSTITUTION: In a heat-accumulator 1 for a heater, heat is stored in a heat-accumulative body 4 which is enclosed with a heat insulating layer 6 filled with a heat insulator 5 to retain the heat. This heat is used as a heat source. Gas such as "Freon 12 or 21 ", carbon dioxide gas or the like having a lower thermal conductivity than air is filled in the heat insulating layer 6 instead of air to heighten the heat retaining property of the layer. Therefore, the thickness of the heat insulating layer 6 can be greatly reduced. This results in making the heat-accumulator compact as a whole. The operating time of the heater can be lengthened even if a material of low heat-accumulation density is used.
