Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of various characteristics due to the vibration and heating at the time of welding, by welding the lead portions of an armature coil by ultrasonic welding to the tubular segments which are connected to the outer periphery of resinous annular body, thereafter cutting the outer periphery of the segnents. CONSTITUTION:The lead portions 3a of the armature-coil are arranged on the thick portion of a commutator blank 18, and welding is carried out by a ultrasonic welding apparatus. Then, thin connecting portions 16 which are segment blanks 15 of said commutator blank 18 of the armature is cut and machined, thereby brush sliding surface 19 is formed. Thus, a commutator 20 having segments 7 which are separated in the circumferential direction is obtained. In this case, since the blank 18 is formed in a tubular shape together with a resin 6 and a brush 5, and the segments 7 are connected by the thin connecting portions 16; the effects due to the vibration and heat at the time of welding to the lead portions 3a can be prevented. Therefore, deterioration of various characteristics can be prevented.
