Abstract

896,248. Slip-rings for dynamo-electric machines. BOSCH G.m.b.H., ROBERT. Oct. 17, 1960 [Nov. 5, 1959], No. 35437/60. Class 35. A slip - ring for an alternator is made up of helically-wound turns of rectangular section rustproof copper-plated steel wire hard-soldered together. It is turned in a lathe, and a helical groove 22 is cut into the brush contacting surface along the join to improve the running of the carbon brushes. The ring is cut into halves 15, 16 which are then anchored with assistance from hooks 17 to a moulded plastics hub 18 on a sleeve 21.
