Abstract
886,867. Commutators for dynamo-electric machines. BOSCH G.m.b.H., ROBERT. March 8, 1960 [April 3, 1959], No. 8132/60. Class 35. [Also in Groups V and XXII] Embedded in the moulded insulation of a commutator are rings 12, 13 having webs 17<SP>1</SP>, 18<SP>1</SP> which locate and space apart the segments 11. The root 16 of each segment is of narrower section than the body and, as shown, the connection lugs have projections 23 which locate in a part of the mould to space them, and are finally machined off. In an alternative arrangement (Fig. 6, not shown), the projections are bent over against each other to give the required spacing. The rings are of insulating material reinforced with a steel band or a number of turns of steel wire hard-soldered together. The commutator is assembled on a special mandrel prior to moulding (see Group V).
