952,923. Commutators for dynamo-electric machines. C.A.V. Ltd. Dec. 21, 1962 [Dec. 27, 1961], No. 46227/61. Heading H2A. In a dynamo-electric machine commutator whose semgents 3 are looked in position around a flanged bush 5 by two metal, e.g. steel, clamping rings 7 engaging respectively two annular grooves 3a at opposite ends of the segment assembly, the unflanged end of the bush 5 being spun over to retain the rings 7 in position, the ring surfaces in contact with the segments 3 have resin impregnated fibrous material, e.g. glass insulating layers 8 engaged and cured on the rings prior to their insertion in the grooves 3a. The remaining insulation is mica. Specification 878,013 is referred to.
