Abstract

Collecti7ig - rings. - The slip-rings 7, 8, 9 of a dynamo machine are secured on the sleeve 3 by forming their hubs 10, 11, 12 so as to engage one under the other, the last one 10 engaging beneath an undercut ring 4 on the sleeve and the whole being held tight by an end ring 14 which engages under the hub of the first slip-ring 9. Insulation 13, 6 is placed between the hubs and the sleeve. The current is led to the rings through shanks 15 screwed into the arms of successive rings and passing freely through holes in the other arms. The cross-section of the hubs may be a parallelogram, as shown, or any other figure giving an undercut effect.
