Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepar L-lysine in high yield, by culturing acetic acid-requiring variant of L-lysine-producing bacteria belonging to Brevibacterium genus, etc.
CONSTITUTION: An acetic acid-requiring variant is induced from L-lysine-producing bacteria belonging to Brevibacterium genus or Corynebacterium genus, by irradiating with UV radiation or treating with N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine, etc. The variant is aerobically cultured in an ordinary nutrient medium at 24W37°C and pH5W9 for 2W7 days. L-lysine is separated from the medium in high yield by ion exchange resin treatment, etc.
