Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of oil stain, water corrosion, etc., by removing water-based lubricating oil with injection air and treating with water substitution type rust inhibitor, when cold rolling aluminum materials by using water-based rolling lubricant.
CONSTITUTION: An aluminum strip S is fed from an uncoiler 1 to a rolling stand 2 which possesses a work roll 4 and a backup roll 5. At the entry side of the rolling stand 2 is provided a water-based lubricant feed device 3, from which emulsion of lubricating oil is supplied to perform rolling. At the exit side of the rolling stand 2 are disposed multiple air nozzles 6 in the breadthwise direction of the strip S. By the air injected from said nozzles to the work roll engaging part, the water-based lubricant on the surface of the strip S is removed. Next, the strip S is passed into a bath containing a water substitution type rust inhibitor 10, and the moisture remaining on the surface thereof is removed, so that a thin film of rust inhibitor may be formed.
