Abstract

PURPOSE:To economically manufacture the rolled product of excellent quality, by employing the low temperature emulsion including the rolling mill oil at a low concentration as the coolant for the cold rolling for the cold rolling mill, and by extracting a part of this emulsion for using as the rolling lubricant at high temperature and high cncentration after adding the rolling mill oil. CONSTITUTION:The low temperature coolant of an emulsion including the rolling mill oil at low concentration like as 0.02-5.00%, is supplied from the tank 5 by the pump 7, and is sprayed from the nozzle 2 on the run-out side of each of cold rolling stands 15-18, against the backup roll 21, the work roll 22, and the strip 23 to cool them. A part of this roll coolant is introduced into the mixing tank 10 through the filter 26; on the other hand, the rolling mill oil of he tank 8 is pumped up by the pump 9 and is put into the tank 10; hereby, the rolling lubricant including suitable high concentration of the rolling mill oil is prepared, and is sprayed from the nozzles 1a, 1b, against the strip on the feed-in side of each of the cold rolling stands 15-18 as the rolling lubricant. This rolling lubricant is excellent in the lubricity, the cooling characteristic, and the workability, and the high quality rolled product is economically manufactured.
