Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture the strip superior in the section shape and the surface condition, by adjusting the concentration, viscosity, etc., of the lubricant in perfoming the rolling work for the strip whose top and bottom planes are being placed under equal lubricating condition. CONSTITUTION:Since the angle of bite of the top plane of the strip to be rolled by the small diameter roll 2 is smaller than that of the bottom plane, the high concentration lubricant is fed onto the top plane of the strip. The emulsion liquid comprising the rolling mill oil and the water is sprayed by nozzles 5, 6, on the rolling rolls 2, 3, and the top and bottom planes of the strip, in order to lubricate and cool temp; after that, the emulsion liquid is recovered to the recovery tank 11. The recovered emulsion liquid is fed to the centrifuge 13 and is separated into the high concentration and low concentration emulsion liquids. Then, correspondingly to the concentration, the separated emulsion liquids are stored in the high concentration tank 14 and the low concentration tank 15; and the high concentration emulsion liquid is sent to the nozzle 5 by the pump 16 and is fed onto the inferiorly lubricious top plane of the strip. Besides, the adjustment of the concentration is carried out by the concentration adjuster 18 installed between two tanks 14, 15.
