Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the supercooling phenomonon, and to improve the stability of heat absorption and release properties, and density of heat reservation, by incorporating copper powder as a mucleating agent into calcium chloride hexahydrate or disodium hydrogenphosphate dodecahydrate.
CONSTITUTION: (B) 0.001W20pts.wt., preferably 0.1W10 parts by wt., of copper powder having a particle size ≤30μ is added to (A) 100pts.wt. of calcium chloride hexahydrate or disodium hydrogenphosphate dodecahydrate to give the desired heat reserving material composition. (C) A thickener, e.g. carboxymethyl cellulose or fine silica powder is preferably added to prevent the formation of dihydrate of (A) and sedimentation of (B).
