Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a heat generating composition capable of giving a desired temperature within a desired period of time, by combining a heat generating substance that generates heat through reaction with water with a substance capable of controlling the heat generation.
CONSTITUTION: This heat generating composition is prepared from a heat generating substance that generates heat through reaction with water and a substance capable of controlling the heat generation. An example of the former substance is calcium oxide and examples of the latter substance include magnesium chloride (anhydride), calcium chloride, and zinc chloride, used alone or as a mixture of at least two of them. The ratio of the former to the latter is preferably 70W99.5:30W0.5 (wt.%).
