Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising (A) an alkali metal (poly)sulfide or a hydrated salt thereof, preferably Na2S.3H2O, (B) a carbonaceous substance, preferably carbon black, having a catalytic action, (C) magnesium and/or aluminum, preferably a particle size ≤20 mesh, and if necessary (D) calcium oxide, preferably a particle size ≤20 mesh, and/or (E) iron powder, preferably reduced iron powder or iron nitride powder of particle size ≤300 mesh for obtaining a high temperature. The weight ratio of the components (A):(B):(C):(D):(E) is preferably 5W50:5W 50:3W50:10W70:60 or less.
USE: Evaporation, e.g. smoking or fumigating, of an insecticide, a germicide, etc. by heat.
