Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by nearly eliminating a drain current while no signal arrives, by connecting a parallel circuit of a diode and resistance between the gate and source of an amplifier composed of enhancement MOSFET. CONSTITUTION:Between the gate and source of enhancement MOSFETQ, a parallel circuit of diode D and resistance R is connected and between input terminal IN and gate, capacitor C1 is also connected. Once a signal is inputted to terminal IN, a drain current equivalent to it flows and at output terminal OUT, a signal appears which has been amplified via capacitor C2. At this time, capacitor C1 is changed via diode D and a voltage biasing the gate forward is developed. With no input signal, the charging voltage of capacitor C1 is discharged via resistance R, and consequently since the gate-bias voltage becomes zero, no drain current flows and power consumption at this time can remarkably be reduced.
