Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the high temp. strength and high temp. oxidation resistance of a cheap alloy steel by specifying the compsn. ratio of C, Si, Mn, Ni, Cr, B and N as the principal components of the steel.
CONSTITUTION: An Fe alloy is refined contg. C≤0.2%, Si 1.0W4.0% Mn≤2.0%, Ni 10W15%, Cr 20W25%, B 0.003W0.05% and N 0.05W0.2% as principal components and optionally contg. one or more out of Mo, W, Ta, Nb and Ti 0.2W1% in total and Al 2W4%. By this alloy compsn. superior high temp. strength, esp. creep rupture strength and superior oxidation resistance at high temp. conditions are provided. There is no problem with respect to producibility as a casting or rolling material, and this alloy is suitable for use as a tile making jig material.
