Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the connector of high accuracy which does not require centering by connecting the end of an optical fiber to the capillary having a micro-hole slightly larger than the diameter of the optical fiber on the central axis and covering the same with concentrical metal. CONSTITUTION:A capillary 11 composed of hard and brittle material such as sintered material of a diameter equal to or slightly smaller than the inside diameteter of a metal coller 9 is assembled and secured into the end part 10 of the cylindrical collar 9 which is made of metal material of high weather- and corrosion resistances such as stainless steel, whereby the plug is constituted. There is a micro-hole 12 of a diameter slightly larger by about 1mu from an optical fiber strand 3 in the center of the capillary 11 and a taper part 13 is provided. by making the shape and size of the collar 9 and capillary 11 to suffuciently high accuracy, the optical fiber plug of high accuracy may be obtained.
