Abstract

PURPOSE:To assemble a connector terminal easily and securely, by fixing an optical fiber in the center of plug, fitting a tapered collar on the outer circumference of the plug, and pushing in a coupling nut. CONSTITUTION:A plug 5 has a fiber core 4 secured in the center thereof, and has a collar 6 fitted on the outer circumference. The structure of this collar 6 is a taper form, with the outside diameter enlarging gradually from the inlet on the left side of the plug to the deeper side. After completion of plug assembling, a coupling nut 7 is pushed in from the left side. The inside diameter of lead-in hole 8 of the coupling nut 7 is preliminarily machined somewhat smaller than the maximum diameter of the collar 6. In this constitution, the optical fiber connector and connector terminal may be assembled very easily and securely.
