Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform stable connection with ease and high accuracy by providing a pair of plugs utilizing arranging bodies consisting of cylindrical glass columns and a sleeve for fitting. CONSTITUTION:A plug 16 wherein a bare fiber part of an optical fiber core is inserted and fixed into the clearance of a delta shape at the center of an arranging body 19 made by bringing three pieces of cylindrical glass columns 18 in tight contact with each other and melt-sticking the same along their tangents and this is fixed by means of a fixing member 21 and a plug 16' of the same construction as that thereof are provided. A fitting sleeve 17 is disposed with an arranging body 25 consisting of 3 piesces of disposing members 23 and 3 sets of 2 pieces of circular glass columns 24 on the inside surface of a split cylindrical pipe 22, and when the plugs 16, 16' are connected, three pieces of the bodies 18, 18' and 3 sets of the bodies 25 contact tangentially.
