PURPOSE:To ensure an easy and assured fixing of an optical fiber cable with a small number of members, by inserting an optical fiber cable through a barrel member to fold it on a reinforcement fiber layer and then fitting another barrel over the first barrel member to fix it. CONSTITUTION:The terminal covering of an optical fiber cable 1 is torn off, and the cable is inserted into the hole 14 of a fixing metal fitting 10. Then an edge surface 17 of a barrel part 13 is fitted to an edge surface 18 of the cable 1, and a fiber layer 3 is folded evenly on the outer circumference of the part 13. A tube 15 is fitted to the outside of a layer 3, and a deformation is given to the tube to reduce an inner diameter 16 by giving a compression around the outer circumference of the tube evenly or polygonally. An optical fiber core 8 is connected 20 to another optical fiber 19, and then a notch 23 of a connection box 22 is fitted between a nut 21 and a flange 11 to be fixed through tightening. In this way, an optical cable fiber is fixed in an easy and assured way and with a small number of members.
