Abstract
PURPOSE:To satisfactorily increase the tensile strength, the bending strength, etc. with a simple structure, by calking and fixing an optical cable and an optical sleeve by means of the level difference of an optical plug and a calking ring via a coated tube. CONSTITUTION:An optical cable 10 is connected to an optical plug 14 in the following method. A level difference 14a is formed to protrude to the outside of the rear end of the plug 14. A kepler 13, i.e. a reinforcing layer of the cable 10 is coated on the plug 14 including the difference 14a, and at the same time a coated tube 16 made of PVC, etc. is attached to the outer circumference of the kepler 13. Then the kepler 13 is adhered to the tube 16 via an adhesive 15, and at the same time a calking ring 17 is attached to the tip part of the tube 16. Then the ring 17 is calked and fixed at several areas on its circumference. In such way, both the tensile strength and the bending strength can be increased.
