Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase efficiency by connecting a field effect transistor to the secondary winding of a converter transformer for DC-DC converters and the like and by performing rectifying operation in order to minimize losses and to obtain high speed.
CONSTITUTION: A DC-DC converter turns on and off a switching transistor 3, takes out an AC voltage through a transformer 2, rectifies it, and supplies a DC voltage to a load 7. A field effect transistor 5 is connected to the secondary widning of the transformer 2. The tertiary winding of the transformer 2 is connected across the first gate and source of the transistor, and parallel circuits comprising diodes and resistors are connected across the second gate and source and across the second gate and drain, thereby rectifying operation is performed. In this constitution, the losses in the forward direction can be minimized by making use of the linear portion of the drain current of the field effect transistor, and the high-speed operation can be obtained, thereby the efficiency can be increased.
