Abstract

PURPOSE:To limit the output current and to miniaturize a 1-stone type transistor converter, by providing a detecting circuit of output voltage for protection against overcurrent and controlling a transistor for protection against overcurrent with a part of the output of the above-mentioned detecting circuit. CONSTITUTION:An output voltage detecting winding 17 is provided to a transformer 2, and a voltage detecting rectifying circuit comprising a rectfying diode 18 and a capacitor 19 is connected in parallel to the winding 17. This rectifying circuit and the winding 17 form an output voltage detecting circuit 16 for protection against overcurrent. The output of the circuit 16 is divided in terms of voltage by a dividing circuit consisting of resistances 20 and 21 to be supplied to the base of a transistor for protection against overcurrent. The on-period of a converting transistor 4 is shortened by controlling the transistor 4. As a result, the output current (load current) is limited to reduce the electric capacitance of a rectifying diode 7, a winding 5, etc. Thus the converter is miniaturized.
