Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily and surely carry out ion nitriding treatment etc. on the whole surface of the material to be treated, by generating glow discharge on the material to be treated changing the position of plural materials to be treated connected to the electrode together with time relatively. CONSTITUTION:For example, nitriding is carried out as follows by the above method. that is, mixed gas of H2 and N2 mixed at a fixed mixing ratio, is supplied from the inlet 22 to the furnace body 10 and also, pressure of the furnace 10 is maintained at a fixed value by discharging gas in the furnace 10 from the outlet 23. Next, glow discharge is generated between the material to be treated 3 in the basket 2 and the body 10 applying voltage between the the cathode terminal 13 and the leading wire 11 in the above condition. Also, plural materials 3 are moved to the bottom of the basket 2 by rotating movement of the rod 16 after pushing up the materials 3 by the partition board 7. As a result of it, position of the materials 3 is changed with time relatively connecting with the cathode 1 and nitriding of all surface of the materials 3 is carried out by a fixed treating condition.
