Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain refined slag in a desirable state and let dephosphorization treatment be rapidly effected by changing the specific refining agent and iron oxide into molten iron.
CONSTITUTION: The refining agent comprising adding about 0.2W0.5 part of CaCl2, KCl to 1 pt.wt. of CaO is charged at about 13W30kg/t to the molten iron whose Si content has been reduced to 0.03W0.25%. At the same time, iron oxide is charged at about 15W30kg/t thereto. When this is force stirred, a small amount of refined slag which has been maintained at basicity (CaO/SiO2) 3.5W8, T, Fe amounts 5W15% is stably formed. This method lets dephosphorization reaction be progressed in good working environments.
